Nkom rubbishes military court summons, chooses birthday celebration

Barrister Alice Nkom failed to show up for her expected hearing at the Judicial Department of the National Gendarmerie today. The hearing in the military-style tribunal coincided with her 80th birthday which she chose to celebrate, disregarding an umpteenth summons from the judicial body.
“This is a special day for me. I never imagined I would live till 80. But I will respond to their summons. To all their summons” the octogenarian told the press this afternoon in her office, where she welcomed those who came to offer birthday wishes.
This last summons follows a series of others from the Wouri SDO after she broke the seals placed at the office of her organization. REDHAC had been suspended by the Minister of Territorial Administration over allegations that her organization is funding terrorism.
Barrister Alice Nkom has given an appointment to the Judicial Department of the National Gendarmerie for January 20, 2025.
