Nigeria: Celebrities send out condolence messages to Davido and Chioma
Celebrities in Nigeria have expressed their discomfort at the hearing of the death of 3-year-old Ifeanyi Adeleke, son to popular musician David Adeleke also known as Davido. It is reported he drowned in a private swimming pool at the residence of the family in Lagos, Banana Island.
With mixed feelings, Williams Uchemba in his recent Instagram post wrote “I said I won’t believe anything on SM until I personally confirm myself. I prayed for it to be a lie. I am upset, pained and confused. Nobody deserves to feel this pain.”
Mercy Johnson on her Facebook page posted a candle likened to her mourning Ifeanyi.
Ini Edo has expressed how painful and unacceptable the news is you her “My friend’s teenage son just last week passed in the United States. While playing football for his school he scored a goal with his head, developed a seizure then slipped into coma and died a few days after. I have not been able to come to terms with how the mother who had been left alone to carter to those kids from an early age is living with the devastating death. Now this…this is beyond painful, it’s too painful to comprehend. Unimaginable tragedy. The hurt is deep. This world scares me shitless, it’s depressing, it’s saddening. No body deserves this kind of pain. Still Lord, I look to you.”
“My heart goes to the Adelekes in this tough time. It is well in Jesus name. Amen,” Deacon Famous also expressed.
Popular blogger, Daddy Freeze, went online to say he had cancelled his live sessions for the next couple of days and is in deep pain.
Following a post on January 7, Prophet Samuel Kind Ministries said “Pray for David Adeleke aka Davido. In a vision, I saw 2022 with so many opportunities for him, reward and awards. This is the biggest year for him even until 2023 but let’s pray against any arrow of death especially his son. Any close loved ones.”
Instablog9ja revealed on Instagram that Ifeanyi’s nanny and 8 others have been arrested following Ifeanyi’s death. They were reportedly arrested for negligence, including his nanny and their cook. The source on Instagram revealed that “Chioma is broken, David is in tears.”
As at now, neither parents has written any public post on the state of the boy. The only family relative to have written on the death of the boy is Davido’s foster brother, Emeka Senator who wrote on his Instagram story “The revelation was taken for granted. God, we are so sorry.”
Several news sources from Nigeria broke the news on the night of October 31st that Ifeanyi, who had recently celebrated his third birthday, passed after falling into a swimming pool at the family’s residence in the Banana Island.
