Ngaoundere: Two Arrested for alleged kidnapping
Two men whose names CNA got as Moussa Jean and Seydo Bouba aged 29 and 23 have been arrested by forces of law and order for allegedly kidnapping two teenagers and demanding for a ransom of F CFA 20 million.
According to reports, the two men were nabbed by the gendermarie forces in Ngaoundere in the Adamawa region on October 3rd ,2022 after they kidnapped 13 year-old Hadidjatou and 15 year-old Hassan.
According to Tidjadi Mamadou the kidnapped girl’s father, he received a call from someone who told him he was asked to kidnap him but considering he did not find him at home, he chose to take his daughter instead:
“He asked me to send him F CFA 20million before he releases her after begging him that I had just F CFA 50,000frs he finally sent my daughter home.”
The second teenager , Hassan says he escaped when his kidnappers went in search of food.
The two suspects where arrested following a tip off from the parents to the forces of law and order who had gone searching for the kidnappers in that neighborhood.
The Commander of the region , Pierre Bedjang while assuring the parents of the measures put in place to eradicate the phenomenon, noted that both men had criminal records.
During their arrest, they were in possession of a dagger, cell phones, sim cards and identification documents most probably belonging to their past victims.
Security forces continue calling on the population to collaborate with forces of law and order to put an end to criminal activities.
