New Mbangassina D.O. meets the people onboard mini truck due to poor roads

The new Divisional Officer (D.O.) for Mbangassina in the Centre region, Faustin Bengono, has made his first tour in the enclaved locality onboard a truck. The tour which took place on November 29 was only possible using this means of transportation due to the very poor nature of the roads.

At some point durng his trip however, the truck was unable to cross a bridge made with make-shift material. It took the D.O. and his entourage some time to pull and push the truck to the other side before their journey could continue.

Once in Mbangassina, Faustin Bengono was greeted with the problems the community faces such as lack of a solid bridge and good roads to ease accessibility and transportation of farm produce from the village to commercial centers. Other problems include the lack of electricity and schools as the lone existing school was built by the locals.
“We do not have sufficient classrooms and teachers. Most children don’t even go to school here. At the end of the day they become wayward and engage in deviant activities,” a local told the D.O.

“Pipe borne water is absent with bore holes or wells being the only sources of water. These boreholes according to the locals at times dry off. Good health facilities are also absent to cure the sick and handle emergency cases.”

After keenly listening to the elites, the administrative officer admitted he did not make a mistake visiting the village:
“I have experienced what you all go through. Getting here alone was hectic for me. So I have noted all your plights. I will present this to my collaborators for solutions to be designed, of that I assure you. I want to see this enclaved locality develop”.

With the visit and pledges of the D.O., the inhabitants of Mbangassina have begun nursing hopes that the wind of development will sweep across their community as soon as possible.
