NEC Declares Dismissal Of Osih From Littoral SDF, Admissible Pending Judicial Review

The National Executive Committee, NEC, of the Social Democratic Front party SDF, has received the file containing the exclusion of the first national vice chairman of the party, Hon. Joshua Osih. The admission does not however mean that NCE has sided with the Littoral bureau, it only means that the Judiciary Committee will investigate the legality of the case and decide if there was a self-exclusion that warranted article 8.2 on the part of Hon. Joshua Osih, Cameroon News Agency, gathered from those who took part in the weekend meeting in Yaounde.

Contrary to reports that the accused, Hon. Osih walked out of the NEC meeting in anger, the Deputy National Communication Secretary, Kejang Henry told CNA that Hon. Osih left when serious issues had been discussed and he had a flight to catch.

“Honourable Joshua Osih did not walk out as people say, you know we have some detractors within the party and so they sent out information to some guys who do not have that professionalism to seek for balance or to fact check. Osih sat throughout the deliberation. He is a man of good character and second personality of the party,” Kajang said, responding to a series of questions from CNA.

“He was supposed to travel because he had his plans to travel so he moved out to pick up his flight. Once the deliberations are over while waiting for the resolutions to be polished which will be submitted or forwarded to the Chairman for signature then sent out to the press, you can even move; people move out before lunch break because after all deliberations we all go for lunch, some people do not even take lunch, others need to travel back. I remember myself at the last NEC meeting I had to leave because I had a family engagement in Douala”.

On March 21, 2021, the Littoral Regional Branch of the SDF said the First National Vice Chairman had self-excluded himself form the party by going against party discipline notably, by signing a document alongside 61 other Members of Cameroon parliament addressing to members of US Senate.

Beneath this politicking, lies a silent battle for succession between Hon. Osih and the Littoral President Hon. Nintcheu, as the National Chairman, Ni John Fru Ndi prepares to retire.
