Ndu: Santana Hotel Proprietor Denies Selling Edifice to Council

Threatens court action against author of false information

The Proprietor of ultramodern resort facility, Santana Hotel, Ndu, in Donga Mantung Division in the North West Region; Usmanu Kahnga, has debunked rumours that the property has been sold to the Ndu Council.
The United States-based serial Cameroonian businessman, made the rebuttal after rumours went viral on social media, that the hotel was now the property of the Ndu Council.
The unfolded claims of the change of ownership of the hotel surfaced on social media, after a post made by a Facebook user, Prince Lesly Nformi, who also hails from Ndu Subdivision.
Lesly Nformi, had in his controversial and unfounded post claimed that: “We know who owns Santana Hotel in Ndu Town. We know how it has changed hands with time. Ndu Council has never owned it but we know the links. If we are buying it, make it public. If the council can purchase that one as it is alleged, then our movement is changing the narrative”.
Lesly Nformi noted that: “In as much as I would have preferred a new luxurious hotel, with better standards…it’s a welcome development…it is for the good of my community…”
To set the records straight, the hotel proprietor, Usmanu Kahnga, quickly dismissed the allegations before threatening court action against the author of the claims.
Describing the allegation as clearly “unfolded and utterly misleading, Usmanu Kahnga, insisted that selling the facility has never crossed his mind.
In a Facebook reply to the author of the false alarm, Usmanu was categorical: “Santana Hotel…has never been for sale and shall never be…I am the sole owner of the hotel. If some politicians start peddling lies that it has been bought by the Ndu Council, how do we now believe that they are going to do the right thing when they take over power?
He cautioned that: “We should say things that we can defend. I repeat, the ownership of Santana Hotel has never changed hands and will never change hands. Even if I am not alive, the hotel will not be sold …so mind your choice of words,” he warned the authour of the claims.
Usmanu Kahnga then threatened “…maybe I should take a legal action to clear this bad air”.
He disclosed that: “I have been contacted by several people from Ndu, who are asking what happened to the hotel. These are besides worries from my family members who are saying ‘there is no smoke without fire’”.
“I am giving you, Lesly, 48 hours to debunk this message or the court will debunk it…you said you are joining politics to challenge the lies politicians have been telling us. It is unfortunate you too has started lying, after your first steps into politics.”
“You have never heard me criticising you or telling lies about you. I have always recognised you as the Prince of our Palace but what you have done today has just stripped you of that title…please time is running out and I don’t want to settle matters elsewhere…” he warned further.
Turning to his community members, Usmanu Kahnga said: “To my fellow Ndfung people and WIYA in general, Santana Hotel was constructed in Ndu for development and not for money making. Most of you know that I would have made a lot of money if this hotel was built in Douala, Yaounde or Limbe where I own buildings…I decided to do it in my home town that I love and cherish so much but today someone, just because of his political ambitions, has decided to publicly assassinate my character for his political gains”.
“I think character assassination and disturbance of quiet enjoyment are punishable. Lastly, to WIYA people, Santana Hotel is not for sale, will not be sold and shall never be sold,” he concluded.
