National Gendarmerie launches back-to-school road safety campaign

The National Gendarmerie has launched a road safety campaign on the notorious national number 3 road linking Yaounde to Douala.

The road safety campaign this period of back-to-school aims at ensuring students, pupils and their parents/guardians are safely transported to their respective regions where they will be for the academic year.

According to the Gendarmerie officials, it is also imperative to control over speeding, overloading, state of vehicles, and drivers licence.

Accidents are rampant during this back-to-school period and the campaign aims at reducing the probability of such happenings

As part of the road safety campaign, the gendarmes ensure the scrupulous respect of COVID-19 barrier measures most especially the obligatory wearing of face masks.

These Gendarmerie officials also demand the population to be vigilant and denounce any unprofessional behavior of drivers for their safety and that of their children.
