National Assembly to deliberate on e-Visa process
The bill has been tabled at the lower house of parliament on July 2, 2022.
The government wants to facilitate the process of obtaining a visa especially when entering into Cameroon. If passed by the majority CPDM parliamentarians, the new bill will go into effect hence modifying and complementing certain dispositions of the 97/012 of January 10, 1997 that fixed the modality for entering, living and departing from Cameroon.
The constitutional law commission shall examine the bill and decide on its adoption or not.
The new procedure is expected to speed up Visa processing with the introduction of eVisa.
Visitors with valid passports and travel documents shall be able to apply for an eVisa online.
They shall also be required to pay online and receive their response online.
The Senate will then receive the bill after NA adoption before promulgation into law by President Paul Biya.
