MTN Elite One: PWD and Bamboutos end in grand style, Coton whitewash Ofta.

Day 22 and final Matches of the MTN Elite One Championship in group B were played early this week.

Fans PWD of Bamenda and Bamboutos of Mbouda wore final season smiles as their teams won their last games of the championship. Bamboutos FC of Mbouda defeated Renaissance 3-2 in an encounter full of suspense till the last seconds at the Mbouda Arena Stadium. The Mangwa boys end the championship season at the 5th position with 32 points.

Standings after day 22

In Bamendzi, PWD thrashed Dragon 4-0 to conserve the confidence of Fans and Supporters. The Abakwa Boys, with 33 points are ranked 3rd in the group. The current Cameroon Cup champs now have their morale boosted ahead of the competition this year.

Coton Sports of Garoua on their part spanked Ofta of Kribi 9-1 in a match considered the rainiest in terms of goals this season thus confirming their supremacy in maintaining the second spot in group B.

In group B, Eding and Coton ranked 1st and 2nd respectively, have qualified for the championship playoffs of the competition that will take place in Garoua in the days ahead. Relegation playoffs will be played by Yafoot meanwhile Ofta and Renaissance ranked 11th and 12th respectively have been relegated to the MTN Elite two.

In group A,

Only Astres has qualified for the championship playoffs already in this group and needs just a point to win the group. Other contestants for the playoffs are Canon, Union, DJIKO, Colombe and AS FORTUNA with 5 points separating them all.

As to what concerns relegation, YOSA after its defeat yesterday is still threatened by relegation. The only team already relegated in this group is Racing of Bafoussam with just 9 points in 20 matches. TKC on its part will need to win all remaining 3 matches in order to rekindle hopes for relegation playoffs.
