MP Jean Michel Nintcheu says Ni John Fru Ndi should resign as SDF national president
Some members of the Social Democrtaic Front political party headed by member of parliament, Jean Michel Nintcheu, have called on the party’s national President, Ni John Fru Ndi, to resign as party leader.
This was during a regional executive meeting which took place over the weekend and was chaired by the regional President of the littoral region, Jean Michel Nintcheu.
The call comes barely a week after the controversial SDF National Executive Committee resolutions dissolved the party’s regional bureaus in nine out of the 10 regions of the country.
Speaking at the end of the meeting, the Littoral bureau chairman, Hon. Michel Nintcheu said the resolution is for the interest of the party:
”We met in an extraordinary executive committee meeting to say no to anti-status resolutions taken on December 10th, 2022 by an illegitimate national executive committee in Yaounde”.
The now ex-regional coordinator has contested the resolutions and says Yaounde’s decision only exposes the intentions of some party officials who have vowed to sell off the SDF and he called for their resignation.
According to a statement signed by the MP, “the said upper hierarchy is guilty of high treason against activists and supporters of the SDF and we demand his immediate resignation”.
He however said mandates of all regional executives have expired and that the renewal process of the said executives Is 60% completed in the Littoral region.
