Momo traditional rulers decorate SDO despite growing discontent

The traditional rulers from Momo Division in the North West region said the SDO has brought peace and maintained a good social environment. Fouda Etaba wore a traditional cap, designed like those worn by traditional rulers. He was also given a traditional staff filled with cowries.
Recently, there have been growing concerns about titles being given to non-indigenes for personal reasons. The North West Fons Union’s president had also raised concerns over traditional regalia worn by ordinary villagers.
A recent case was in January where former player and president of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o Fils was given a similar treatment by the ruler of Koshin in Menchum Division.
Etaba has served as assistant SDO, D.O., and now SDO of the division.
