Minister suspends licence of overspeeding driver

Transport Minister Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe has suspended the driver’s license of Sop Wembe Bruno, driver of the 35-seater bus that was involved in a road accident on Friday, October 13, 2023, that killed at least 9 people in Efok, a locality in Obala along the Yaounde – Bafia road.

The Minister said preliminary investigations revealed that the accident was caused by a dangerous overtaking by the bus, worsened by overspeeding that led to its collision with a truck loaded with sand.

Some 25 others were severely injured and are being taken care of in health facilities.
