Minister Atanga Nji calls cautions colleague over roles in Shisha control
The minister of territorial administration, Paul Atanga Nji has ordered administrative authorities to put an end to surprise controls of drinking spots, restaurants, casinos and other leisure places by public health agents in the bid of stopping the consumption of “Shicha”
Minister Atanga Nji in said in a confidential letter to his colleague of Public health, Manaouda Malachie, that the controls being done with the complicity of some security elements without referring to administrative authorities as demands the law should be stopped. The MINAT boss reiterates the fact that forces of law and order are under the command of administrative authorities, Governors, Senior Divisional Officers and Divisional Officers and can not be requested without the approval of these administrative authorities.
Paul Atanga Nji also says the consumption of drugs in school milieu and other places was on the agenda during the recent biannual Governor’s conference and measures have been taken to eradicate the phenomenon.
While recalling that the act could create public disorder, Paul Atanga Nji instructs Regional Governors to put an end to the controls carried out public health agents.
