MINAT boss issues ultimatum to NGOs to submit annual activity report

By Stephen TADAHA

The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, on Tuesday, December 10, during a Press conference at his ministerial department, issued an ultimatum to associations and Non-Governmental Organisations, to submit their annual activity and financial reports.

The outing from the MINAT boss follows the suspension of some NGOs some days ago.

In issuing the ultimatum, Paul Atanga Nji also returned to the reasons for the suspension and ban of the associations and NGOs operating in Cameroon, saying they were operating illegally.

Facing the press, he stressed the need for all Cameroonian NGOs and associations to comply with national and international regulations, citing the 1990 law on freedom of association and the 1999 law on NGOs, which both establish requirements in terms of transparency and good financial management. After exposing the shortcomings observed in the functioning of the said associations, he gave until January 30, 2025, for all NGOs and associations to submit their annual activity and financial reports.
