Militants kill Sailor, fail to hijack vessel in Bakassi
The leader of the separatist group Biafran Nation League has told CNA that he is aware of the attack early Sunday, June 19, 2022, but he cannot tell which unit carried out the attack.

Reports say a foreign boat vessel was attacked and a sailor killed. The leader of the BNL however said on his Facebook page that, they are still investigating the attack.
“We urge everyone to back to their normal businesses and all securities back to duty post.”
The attack happened on the side of the Cameroonian border in the oil-rich, Archibong town, Isangele subdivision.
CNA learned the main aim of the attack was to hijack the oil vessel but they couldn’t as it made a U-turn from the Nigerian direction they were embarking on.
