Michele Ndoki: “I came back to Cameroon to stop the wheel of silence”
Barrister Michele Ndoki, Vice President of the Women’s Wing of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement party has cleared the suspicions on the minds of many party comrades who suspected she returned from exile to replace Prof. Maurice Kamto as president of the party. Others even wondered if the danger she was escaping is now lost in the woods.
Speaking to the German media, Deutsche Welle she said “I am no longer in danger. I don’t care nor did I care until the day I was shot. Today I took the decision not to worry about it. What matters now is what we can do together. I prefer to watch those who join the team of change bringers and those who want a rebirth to be a living reality”.
The CRM militant also reacted to the unending atrocities in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon master-minded by both belligerents and also violence in other parts of the country. “Obviously the government is unable to stop this escalation of violence. So what do we do? Are we leaving to save our lives? Are we silent because we are afraid? Or are we trying to do something to end the escalating violence?” She added.
According to the legal mind and politician, her choice to return home is due to fear of what will happen if silence is continually nursed. She concluded by encouraging Cameroonians not to be silent any longer. Rather, they should speak out and denounce the wrongs of the government authorities.
