Mezam SDO says investigations ongoing to track Nkwen shooters

The Senior Divisional Officer, Simon Emile Moore, on Sunday, November 26, 2023, promised the government would track down perpetrators of an attack that took place in a popular Bamenda snack bar.

The attack led to the death of five persons and left nine others injured. The shooters who identified themselves as Ambazonia separatist forces said they came to send a message to the owner of the bar where the attack took place.

According to them, the owner hosted a Nigerian Actor, Sylvester Maud, also known as Shina Rambo, but did not pay taxes to the forces.

In a release on Sunday, DAMA, the film production that invited the actor, acknowledged that they did not prepare for such eventually, but promised to do so next time.

The SDO enjoined the population of Bamenda and Mezam, in general, to contribute to peace by working with security forces as informants. He also said they are working hard to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Bamenda, the capital city of the North West region, is one of the strongholds of the Separatists.
