Messi, Haaland and Mbappe nominees for 2023 FIFA The Best Men’s Player Award
The three finalists of the 2023 FIFA The Best Men’s Player Award have been revealed by the organizing football governing body.
The winner will be picked based on their performance between December 19, 2022 and August 20, 2023.
Lionel Messi who won the award last year after guiding Argentina to World Cup victory in Qatar, later clinched the Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint Germain alongside Kylian Mbappe before moving to Inter Miami. Haaland on his part led Manchester City to a treble last season.
In the women’s category, the three finalists are Aitana Bonmati from Spain (plays for FC Barcelona), Linda Caicedo (Columbian playing for Real Madrid), and Spanish striker Jenni Hermoso who plays for CF Pachuca.
The winners will be announced in a ceremony in London, England, on January 15.
