Melong: man butchers 2-year-old daughter
The victim whose name has not been disclosed was reportedly butchered by her father Guyleme Kegne last October 12 for reasons knonw to him only. primary suspect.
According to the brother of the 22-year-old suspect, Philippe Nifouet, his younger brother joined a cult for money:
“For some time now, he has been complaining about his life, telling us how sad he is, cursing heavens for being born into an underprivileged family. We think he joined a dark cult… I don’t know what happened to him but he must pay for this.”
Guyleme Kegne we learn, used a machete to take away the life of his 2-year-old daughter living with him in Njinjou village situated about 15km away from Melong in the Moungo division of the Littoral region. “That night, the baby went inside to get her dress and give to her dad to help her wear it but to my surprise, he caught her by the leg, picked a machete which was nearby and began slaughtering the baby… Unfortunately I couldn’t save her,” his brother Philippe further explained.
The whereabouts of the girl’s mother are not known but her father is in custody at the Melong gendarmerie brigade pending court judgement.
