Meet Fr. Henri Peters of STAMS Bambui
Radio Evangelum in Mamfe revealed on Friday that since 1973, Fr Henri Peters has been in STAMS as a formator till date.
STAMS is the St. Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary, created 50 years ago in Bambui, North West region.
Since its creation, Fr Henri Peters has served the Seminary and “singlehandedly built the STAMS library from scratch to what we have today,” Radio Evangelum said.
During the 50th anniversary, Fr Henri Peters was decorated with the traditional ‘red feather’ and the Papal Nuncio gave him the Papal Blessings.
In the past 50 years, STAMS has trained 1,355 candidates, and ordained 791 as priests among whom are seven bishops and 52 deacons.
“Candidates have come from almost all dioceses in Cameroon, Congo Brazzaville, Central Africa, Chad, and now one for the diocese of St Thomas, Virginia Islands.”- RE Mamfe.
