Mbouda: civil status documents to be established in 24h

By Stephen TADAHA

The establishment of birth, marriage and death certificates in Mbouda will henceforth be done within 24 hours thanks to the digitalization of the Mbouda civil status registration system.

After receiving a set of digitalization equipment from the National Civil Status Registration Office (BUNEC) and its partner GIZ last November 28, some council agents at the civil status registration department at the Mbouda council, on Thursday November 30, rounded up a 2-day training session on its effective use.

The equipment which were received by the Lord Mayor of the council, will go a long way to facilitate the establishment and issuance of birth, marriage and death certificates in the locality.

Secondary centres of civil status registration will henceforth have as major role to collect information which will be centralized at the council for the establishment of the precious documents.

The implementation of this digitalization process is in its pilote phase and the councils in the West region chosen to experiment the process are the Mbouda, Dschang and Bafoussam II councils.
