Mbanga: one-month-old baby disappears from hair saloon

A woman called Marie is in a distressed and confused state following the disappearance of her one-month-old baby girl in a hair saloon precisely in a place known as “quarter 3” in Mbanga-Moungo division of the Littoral region.

According to her brother, she went to the said saloon with the baby to do her hair:

“My sister told me that she visited the hair saloon just a stone’s throw from her shop to do her hair. Her child fell asleep and she decided to leave the baby there after fixing her hair since she wasn’t far away. After some time, she returned to check on her but couldn’t find her.”

The hairdresser questioned by inhabitants of the area said a woman came into the saloon and began playing with the baby before taking with her away. The saloon owner says she believed the child was hers.

Marie, with the help of family members reported to the Mbanga Gendarmerie brigade and an investigation opened to find the person who must have intentionally carried the baby away.

According to family sources, Marie had been trying to conceive for 11 years but could not conceive until 10 months ago.

Even the locals of quarter 3 in Mbanga have said they will not sit and cross their arms. They have also joined in the search for the baby.
