MAURITIUS: Cameroonian Man Kills Mauritian Wife Following Domestic Dispute

A Cameroonian man has confessed to killing his Mauritian girlfriend following a domestic dispute. According to sources in Mauritius, 24-year-old Beltrami Kemayou hit his 30-year-old wife, Sivanee Saminaden, with a table, causing severe fractures to her skull and dislocating her arm.

He then placed their infant baby inside a barrel outside their house and fled the murder scene to another town, where he is said to have again attacked a 16-year-old with a knife.

He also attacked a French national.
At press time, Kemayou was in handcuffs while receiving treatment in the town of Pamplemousses. He murdered in a village called Petit Raffray.

He will remain in police custody until investigations are concluded and authorities decide on his fate.
Mauritius is an island nation in the Indian Ocean, off the eastern coast of Madagascar. It has seen an influx of Cameroonians going there for job opportunities over the last 10 years.
