Marc Brys promises better results for next World Cup match

Following Cameroon’s recent 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Cape Verde and Angola, an evaluation meeting was convened by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, on June 12 in Yaounde.

In attendance were Marc Brys, his assistants Joachim Mununga and Giannis Xilouris, as well as Francois Omam Biyick, Cypri Besong, Alioum Boukar, Philippe Manouvrier, Benjamin Banlock, Dany Nounkeu, William Ngatchou, and players Vincent Aboubakar and Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui.

After the meeting, Marc Brys expressed his excitement about the team’s progress and future performance, saying, “I worked with a good team, an intelligent group and I can only promise better results with the team in our next games.”

However, Brys emphasized that the team’s success should not lead to complacency. “We were appreciated, but it doesn’t mean that we are satisfied,” he stated. “We had a good performance, but we have to put in more work and put our ambition high.”

Brys also highlighted the progress that the team had made in a short period of time, saying, “It’s nice to see the evolution with the team within a short period. There was much more cohesion, combination football, and much more ball possession, and that is what we want to see.”

Cameroon’s next match in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers will be against Eswathini in March 2025 and then Libya.
