Man accused of butchering his mother under arrest
The night of Sunday May 22nd will forever be remembered as the night of horror in the song village, situated in obala, centre region of Cameroon.
A young man apparently in his early 20s whose name CNA got as Hughues Bodo is accused of murdering his mother Foe Marie Agnes. According to family members, the man tied up mouth, hands and feet of his younger sister before using a spade to hack open his mothers and head and feet. He is equally accused of having sexually assaulted his mother’s remains before running off.
Thanks to elements of the Obala gendarmerie, Hughues is caught in a village called Sa’a and taken to prison. The accused says his mother was a witch and fond of maltreating him. He remorselessly declares that the late Foe Marie Agnes attacked him first and he simply defended himself.
This incident comes up just a week after the burial of the victim’s husband. She leaves behind three daughters, including a-month-old and the son who put an end to her days.
Drug consumption is blamed for this act but others say he most probably joined a cult which forced him to carry out such a horrible act.
