MAGIL signs MOU to resume work at olembe stadium
The government of Cameroon and the Canadian Construction Company Magil, have signed a memorandum of understanding to resume work at the Olembe Complex Stadium after over two years since works stopped.
This was revealed in a press release on October 3, 2023, by the Director of the company, Elodie Filopon.
“MAGIL and the State of Cameroon, announce that a memorandum of understanding has been signed between the parties, paving the way for the resumption of work on the Olembe Sports Complex, and to put an end to the March 23 litigation,” a section of the release reads.
“After several working sessions with the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon and the Task Force, a conciliation report was established on August 8, and signed on September 8, 2023. MAGIL thus presented a schedule for restarting activities on the project, testifying to the company’s continued commitment to the completion of the Olembe Sports Complex,” the comunique further reads.
MAGIL has been in charge of the construction project since 2019 when they took over from Italian company, PICCINI whose contract was terminated.
