Loum SDF militants exchange punches over alleged election fraud

The Social Democratic Front party, in Loum, Moungo Division of the Littoral region is in turmoil as two camps of militants tear themselves over holding elections to renew primary organs of the opposition.

The elections turned chaotic when the supervisory commission and Mayor Guy Kuaté Wambo’s faction stood against the deputy mayor’s candidacy for the post of President of the SDF Loum sub-section.

According to Mayor Guy Wambo, organizers of the elections lack competence.
” No election will take place. We will wait for the SDF top officials to descend to Loum for proper organization of the elections. Without them, nothing will happen here.” The Mayor of Loum stressed.

On the other side, the Deputy Mayor’s faction described Mayor Guy Wambo as a nobody to stop the elections from taking place.

adding that “Mayor Guy Wambo is powerless to stand against the Loum elections. He is just a Mayor and not an SDF authority. He is like any other militant of the SDF party in Loum.”

The Deputy Mayor’s faction also accused Mayor Guy Wambo of abusing the party’s laid down rules and regulations.

“The Mayor is not above the laws of the party. To be a true militant, he must be able to respect the rules and regulations governing the SDF party”. A militant said.

A chaotic election day plunged the SDF party supporters and sympathizers in frustration as they could only fold their arms, and watch the militants exchange punches till the election avenue was evacuated with the ballot boxes.
