Littoral: population blocks road to stop house demolition by government
The population of Ngodi Bakoko, Wouri division in the Douala III subdivision of the Littoral region have taken to the streets to protest against planned demolitions.
They used benches, stones, tyres and sticks to mount road blocks at a place popularly known as “Entrée Guinness”. This is to prevent all vehicles and particularly the caterpillars to be used in the demolition exercise.
Elements of the Police and National Gendarmerie have started arriving at the scene to disperse the angry crowd.
