Libianca sings for peace in Cameroon and Palestine

By Wilson Musa

Days after cancelling her North American tour, citing separatist threats, Libianca has released a snippet of a song dedicated to restoring peace in Cameroon and Palestine.

The singer who is known for her hit single, ‘People’ wrote,

“I didn’t want to share this with anyone and I don’t plan on releasing or finishing it but God gave me these gifts to share and it’s the only way I know how to put how I feel into words that make sense. To everyone that did, Thank you for speaking life over me and sending the kindest messages. It means a lot to me as always♥️#stopthewar.

#wewantpeace#freepalestines #freecameroon”

In her lyrics, she said selfishness has brought us to the present predicament because people just want to fight but are unable to give peace a chance.

“Let them know, free my people…shooting bullets at each other, the pains becomes unbearable.”

Adding that, “the power of the tongue is greater thatm any other.”

She also questions why the powerful and rich will steal from the poor and ravage their blood.

“Free Cameroon, Free Palestine and stop the war”, is the central message of Libianca’s snippet which she said she was still holding unto the music but decided to release because God gave her the talent to sing and share.

Since 2016, the Anglophone regions of Cameroon have hit by a conflict that started with Unionist strike before entering into a full blown conflict when Separatists forging to restore the independence of the former Bristish Trust Territory, Southern Cameroons, now North West and South West regions, responded to a miliatry crackdown on protesters by creating armed groups.

Libianca is from the North West region of Cameroon and was recently bashed by Separatists for holding a Cameroon flag. She responded by cancelling her tour in North America, before releasing a video where she said, her Cameroonian identity is rooted in the United Republic of Cameroon.
