Leopard coach Belibi fired after 6 losses

Attributed to poor results, Leopard Sportif’s Head Coach Alexandre Belibi has been fired by his employers for poor performance. This decision was rendered public on November 20th.

Belibi was brought on board for the 2023/2024 season to take the  Douala based club to the first division but after six games, he failed to secure a win.

From the start of the elite two championship, Leopard has been experiencing difficulties in performance, making it challenging to compete with other teams in their pool.

Their lackluster performance has been attributed to the ongoing internal conflict between club leaders, the committee and fan groups. Edouard Penda, the club’s secretary-general, revealed that many supporters have been gathering for nighttime meetings to pray for the team’s downfall in elite two.

In six games, the team has suffered five defeats, one draw, scored three goals and conceded thirteen, currently sitting at the 7th position in group B with one point.

The length of Belibi’s suspension is unknown, but Bikai Ngouem, has been announced by the team as his replacement.

It remains uncertain when the factions will reach a compromise to bring peace, with many hoping they do so soon, as this will pave the way for one of Cameroon’s most historic clubs to reclaim its former glory.
