Kumbo: Gov’t forces kill bike rider

Kumbo town dwellers woke up yesterday Wednesday, August 23, 2023, with their normal activities until 10:50 a.m. when members of the Cameroon military shot, killed a biker, and then burned his motorbike, at the centre town called Squares.

Eyewitnesses recount that the military arrived at the center of the town in their truck and took guard. They saw the bike man and beckoned him to come. The man who was sitting on his bike skipped off and started panicking.

He made a few steps towards the military and then turned away. He was shot at close range.

The military came closer to his body lying on the ground, and fired many bullets on him, then set his bike on fire. The biker is a native of Ndu who came to Kumbo as an Internally Displaced Person. A CNA reporter on the ground confirmed that the victim was a civilian who had identification papers.
