Kribi: Man disappears in water during fun trip

A man whose name CNA got as Kingue Dicka Njo also known by his friends as Audric Dika has been swallowed by raging waters in Kribi, South region of Cameroon.

Sources on the ground say he had been swimming in the troubled waters with his girlfriend. The two had gone on what was supposed to be a fun trip to the seaside but it quickly turned sour. The pair are said to have drowned. While it is reported that the remains of the girl have been found, Audric Dika on his part is still missing.

Inhabitants of Kribi and experts advise that tourists avoid swimming during the rainy season to prevent such occurences. The beaches in Kribi are sometimes rocky at particular areas and these could be dangerous during high tides as the water tends to cover the stones. A dive at such places or the waves just pushing one back towards such spots could be fatal.

Family members and friends of Kingue Dicka have been pouring out prayers for his safety on his Facebook page although the probability of finding him alive is closest to zero.
