Kribi: Former D.O. appears in court for murder trial

The long awaited court case between the family of deceased student, Lydienne Solange Taba and her allerged murderer, Lokoundje former Divisional Officer has finally started this August 2nd.

As soon as the case was called up at the request of a college of lawyers and human rights defense teams, the court reclassified it as involuntary homicide.

“It must be said that it was all the same curious that the magistrate in charge of the judicial investigation found a way, given the seriousness of the facts, to make it a minor offence, that is to say a misdemeanor when issuing his settlement order in this case”. A defense lawyer said.

According to information relayed by the defense team, the act has been recorded by the court as a criminal offence that will officially be made known before everyone in the Ebolowa Military Tribunal by the end of the judgement.

The case was however adjourned to a later date yet to be announced by the court.

It should be recalled that Lydienne was killed at the residence of the
Lokundje D.O. Frank Derlin Oyono Ebanga on Saturday July 25, 2020. According to reports, the D.O. claimed he was cleaning his gun early Saturday when it accidentally went off and shot his then girlfriend in the throat.
