Colonel Kalkaba Malboum is set to renew his leadership at the helm of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSC) on Thursday, January 26.
The Elective Assembly of the body will be held, following meetings by the Executive Bureau and Board of Directors, who have set a number of objectives to be achieved.
Kalkaba Malboum will be an unopposed candidate on Thursday.
“Personally, I think I did a lot for the movement till now, and I can have the confidence of my olympic family,” said the incumbent President of the Olympic Committee at the end of the Board of Directors’ meeting in Yaounde, Wednesday.
He said it is intended that the Olympic Committee becomes a reference for good governance of sports in Cameroon. “The sports actors will not just ensure the construction of headquarters of sports federations, but will oversee detection and training of athletes, and promote olympic values, fund national sports and competitions,” the colonel stated.
The ordinary session of the Board of Directors of the CNOSC also comprised a review of Cameroon’s participations at the Commonwealth games, Islamic games and organization of Dixiades, as well as Cameroon’s bid to host the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games.
