NBA: Joel Embiid sets record with 70-point game

Cameroonian basketballer Joel Embiid has made history, scoring 70 points in a single game for the Philadelphia 76ers against San Antonio Spurs in the NBA.
The reigning Most Valuable Player finished with 70 points to become the ninth player in NBA history to record the feat on 24-of-41 shots from the field, 21-of-23 from the line, along with 18 rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block.
Embiid’s staggering achievement has surpassed Wilt Chamberlain’s previous Sixers scoring record of 68 points, and it also marked the first time since Allen Iverson in 2005 that a Philadelphia player has scored 60-plus points.
With a win against San Antonio, Embiid has won his last five games and has scored 221 points in the process
The Cameroonian sportsman has a string of awards to his name, such as All-Defensive Team, All-NBA, NBA Player of the Month, NBA Player of the Week, NBA Rookie of the Month, All-Rookie Team, and NBA Most Valuable Player.
Joel Hans Embiid was born in Yaounde – Cameroon, to Christine and Thomas Embiid. He became a part of the Philadelphia 76ers team in 2014 and is the 3rd Cameroonian to have ever played in the NBA.
