Investment scheme boss arrested while attempting to leave Cameroon

The crypto currency trading platform Liyep limal has been on lips for many weeks now. Emile Parfait Simb, the owner of this platform is accused of theft and malpractice. Several weeks ago, information filtered that following numeorus complaints from investors, an arrest warrant had been issued but the crypto trade boss took to facebook with a cryptic message: “C’est maintenant que le buisness commence “. Translated in English “It is now that business begins”.   

After emptying all bank accounts in his name and even reportedly laundering money, it is through the Royal air Maroc Airline that he attempted to leave Cameroon. Investigators say this airline was chosen due to their very late night flights, necessary for a person attempting to flee incognito.

Police at the borders arrested him in the early hours of May 26 at the Douala International Airport and is being transferred to Yaounde where he will appear in court to give answers to all investors and the law.

Emile Parfait Simb is accused of stealing over F CFA 300 billion from numerous investors including Canadian citizens.

This is just one of many investment schemes in Cameroon which has left many in tears and confusion. Another which is currently being investigated is Teks Global. The company is accused by over 274 people of stealing billions of F CFA and is being dragged to court for misappropriation and fraud.
