IMF gives FCFA 47 billion to Cameroon
The International Monetary Fund, IMF, has agreed to disburse the sum of F CFA 47 billion to Cameroon.
This is within the framework of the second review of the economic and financial program supported by the extended credit mechanism. The decision was taken by the IMF board this July 25th. This new assistance brings to F CFA 205 billion, the total amount of money already given out by the IMF to Cameroon under the said agreement.
Cameroonian finance minister, Louis Paul Motaze made this known to the public this July 27th specifying that Cameroon, like the rest of the world, is experiencing a slow down in growth as well as inflation caused by the ongoing war in Ukraine.
