ICT University wins award prize for championing digital learning


Yaounde-based ICT University has bagged an award for its leading role in championing digital learning and the training of world-class entrepreneurs.
As no surprise, the ICT University was declared the winner of the coveted Most Innovative University Award.
A distinction which comes with years of dedication to promoting quality university training, the ICT University has now beaten its record for bagging the prize for years running.
Initially conferred the prize of Best digital university in the Central African subregion some years back, the latest award of the Most Innovative University was bestowed on the institution by the organisers of the second edition of the Cameroon English Language Newspaper Publishers’ Association, CENPA Awards.


The prize was publicly presented to officials of the ICT University during an award night held Saturday, July 5, in Buea.
The ICT University delegation to the award ceremony was led by Epie Ananfah Eponsime, personal representative of the founder and President of the Board of Trustees of the university, endowed Professor Victor Mbarika.
The CENPA award jury was headed by renowned human rights defender and Member of the Elections Cameroon, ELECAM electoral board, Tambe Tiku Christopher. Frontline rights lawyer and President of the Centre of Human Rights and Democracy in Africa, CHRDA, Barrister Nkongho Felix Agbor Balla served as Secretary of the Jury.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s award ceremony was attended by personalities from all walks of life.
The President of CENPA, who doubles as Publisher/ Editor-in-Chief of The Guardian Post Daily Newspaper, Ngah Christian Mbipgo, spoke at the Buea event.
He said the CENPA Award, initiated a year ago, seeks to among other things celebrate individuals and institutions for contributions to nation building and community development.
The CENPA award jury said the ICT University was singled out “In recognition of excellence in education, through the training of leading entrepreneurs and for championing digital learning in Cameroon, Africa and beyond”.


The representative of the President of the ICT University, Epie Ananfah, described the prize won as most deserving before expressing gratitude to the organisers for finding the Yaounde-based institution worthy of the distinction.
Speaking on behalf of the ICT University, Epie emphasised that the award will motivate the University to enhance its efforts academically and in other aspects to uphold the standard of excellence.
Fair, timely recognition
The ICT University, in all fairness, is amongst the leading universities in Africa and beyond.
With over 15 years of its existence, the ICT University has gained international recognition and credibility due to its approach to learning.
Serving more than 15,000 students worldwide via on-site and online programs, the ICT University develops productive and relevant Diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral level scholars to utilise their research and training in solving the substantial problems in their countries.
With a plethora of programmes at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, including diploma and certification programs, the ICT University offers a dynamic and flexible learning environment that inspires innovation and creativity and lays emphasis on student access.
Due to his outstanding programmes, the ICT University has won multiple awards, including the “Best University in Cameroon” for Excellence in 2022.

The institution was also recognised as the Best ICT institution in Cameroon at the Golden National Peace Award in 2023.

Additionally, the university’s founder, Prof. Victor Mbarika, has received several international accolades, such as the African Leadership Award in London and the Cameroon Heroes Impact Award.
In February 2022, ICT University was named the Best University in Cameroon at the 19th edition of The Guardian Post Awards for Excellence.
The award recognised the university’s use of ICTs to enhance higher education and its contributions to raising new leaders.
