Heavy Rains: Six regions at risk, transport Minister warns

The Minister of Transport, Ngalle Bibehe, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, warned that downpours in the Far North, North, Adamawa, North West, West and East regions, may cause devastating effects.

The Minister added that the National Meteorological Centre announced that the rains could cause inundations, erosion, landslides, and destruction of portable water points among other disasters.

The people of these regions were advised to remain vigilant and follow weather forecasts for any eventuality, meanwhile, those in risk zones were urged to relocate.

This comes at the time when more than 30 people died in the Mbankolo area, at the Yaounde 2 Council On Sunday, October 8, 2023, when a dike collapsed due to heavy rains.
