GWR: Irish chef Alan Fisher dethrones Hilda Baci

The Guinness World Records announced on Tuesday that a new record holder for the longest cooking marathon individual had emerged.

Irish chef and business owner Alan Fisher, surpassed Nigerian chef Hilda Baci’s 93 hours and 11 minutes record, by cooking for 119 hours 57 minutes.

The Nigerian was unseated only five months after her accomplishment.

“I’m so happy to have held a record so prestigious and profound I will forever be honored and grateful for all the love and support” Hilda tweeted.

“Just as Chef Lata respectfully acknowledged the new record holder by updating her bio and later fine tuning the wording I’ve adjusted mine too” she added.

Hilda had extended the record held by Indian chef Lata Tondon, from 87 hours 45 minutes set in 2019.

The new holder Alan, organized his cookathon in the city of Matsue in Japan, where he is currently based. He owns a restaurant called Kyojin Stewhouse, which focuses on the mainstays of Irish households: stews, soups, homemade breads, and potatoes.
