Gunmen burn down Mamfe district hospital
There were heavy exchanges of gunshots in the early hours of Thursday, June 9, 2022, CNA learned.
Minutes after gunmen invaded the Mamfe District hospital setting every department on fire.
A local said they suspect Ambazonia fighters carried out the arson attack, “The ambas took everyone out of the ward and set the hospital on fire”
Government forces’ control post is not too far from the hospital. It is uncertain how the suspected separatists managed to remove everyone from the hospital before setting it on fire without a military intervention.

Except for the new Pharmacy, generator store, and mortuary, all other structures were set on fire, including the old Pharmacy.
The MSF collaborates with this hospital and had recently donated a generator and other equipment.
Nurses and Doctors on duty, including patients, were rushed to other medical centres such as the Police clinic.
No official source has commented.
