Gov’t Forces Torture Reverend Sister, Others in Bui
A military convoy returning from Kumbo – Bui Division in the North West was hit by an Improvised Explosive Device on the Wainamah Hill at about 10 am Thursday, December 2, 2021.
The casualties are still unknown but the military response to the act was very disproportionate, witnesses told CNA. Government forces immediately stopped all cars plying the Kumbo -Jakiri -Ndop -Bamenda roads and fired at the tyres.
They removed every passenger from vehicles, laid them on the road and got them severely beaten. Civilians at Babessi (a neighbouring village below the Wainamah hill) were also arrested and molested.
They told them that next time they are attacked with IEDs they shall kill all the inhabitants of the neighbouring villages if they don’t persuade their “brothers” to stop attacking them, a witness said.
One of the civilians beaten in Babessi is a young Reverend Sister.
