Gendarme Who Killed His Colleague and Two Civilians in Douala, Has Been Arrested In Soa

Douala, Cameroon-Tuesday December 26, 2017-4:00 PM Local Time (Cameroon News Agency) Elements of Douala Gendarmerie Territorial Brigade and Special Research Branch have arrested Roni Takem Wamba, 28, the Gendarme who shot to death his colleague, Elizabeth Doudou Latifa and two other civilians last Saturday December 23, 2017 at the Wouri bridge and Makepe in Douala respectively, Security sources have confirmed.
He was arrested early Saturday around 3 am in Soa, in the Centre region after he made a failed attempt to sell the gun he used during the act.
According information gathered, the 28 year olds hideout was revealed by a buyer in a small village located 30 km from Soa, who suspected the gun about to be sold to him belonged to the military. He immediately alerted security forces who paid a surprised visit to Roni Takem Wamba. He was caught in possession of the Kalachnikov and munitions which he wanted to sell for FCFA 100,000.
He shot his colleague last Saturday after being caught in an illegal control on the Wouri Bridge. He failed to heed to advice from his colleagues to leave the place, instead raised his gun and shot her. He later went to Makepe in Douala five and killed two persons, his girl friend and one guy he suspected was going out with his girl.
Roni Takem is now in custody.
