Gabon elections: I will not bow to any pressure- opposition leader

Gabon’s opposition leader, Albert Ondo Ossa, has said he will not bow to any pressure from the international community to become the Prime Minister.

Sunday’s polls shows that the Ondo was leading the presidential election but the government shutdown internet and banned several international media.

“I will not bow to any pressure, I will not back down…I am telling the international community that I will not be part of any negotiations to become the Prime Minister,” Ondo Assa said in an interview.

He called on Ali Bongo to accept defeat and evacuate the preisdential house, ” I will prepare them a safe passage, there will be no pressure one Bongo family.” He assured.

The opposition leader also urged the military to be on the winning side and let there be peace.

The Bongos have been in command for almost 56 years. Ali Bongo took over power from his father in 2009 when the latter died.

Though results of the polls are yet to be made official, Bongo is said to have below 30% while Ndo has above 60%.
