Leaders of the South West FECAFOOT executives have held meetings to seek ways for the construction of a football stadium in the region.
The meeting held on August 28 2022 under the leadership of Honourable Fritz Etoke. The executive met with the paramount ruler of the Bafaws, Fon Ekoko Mukete IV, to brainstorm on the eventual establishment of a stadium in the chief town of the Meme division in the South West region.
Over 5 hectares of land situated in Kosala II Kumbaw were earmarked for the construction of this stadium to the satisfaction of some inhabitants of the area:
“It was high time Kumba vibrates to the football rythmn again. We really need it” a denizen said.
Others are hopeful the coming of a stadium could bring together sons and daughters from Meme, Ndian, Manyu and Lebialem:
“So far, Fako has two stadiums. Having one in Kumba I think could bring the other divisions closer” another Kumba denizen said.
An official announcement from the FECAFOOT national bureau is awaited as many cross fingers for the talks to bear fruits
