First governors’ conference focuses on inflation and security
Governors of all 10 regions have been called upon to ensure peace and order reigns as the country experiences price hikes. They were alsoinstructed to fight drug consumption in schools and the sales of illicit drugs in their respective regions.
The call was made by territorial administration minister, Paul Atanga Nji during the 48-hour first semester conference of Governors that ended in Yaounde this August 9 with focus on administrative authorities and security challenges in times of socio-economic constraints.
Paul Atanga Nji while presiding over works at the conference, also instructed that governors ensure a hitch-free school resumption this academic year, to reinforce collaboration between the population and security forces and to promote the consumption of made-in-Cameroon products.
The governors also presented the socio-economic end security balance sheets of their regions for the first half of the year. Particular attention was paid on the Far North, East, North West and South West regions all hit by security crisis.
The next conference comes up in November 2022 to ensure a smooth end of year.
