FIFA2026WCQ: Senegal’s Teranga Lions dominate South Sudan with a crushing 4-0 win

The Teranga lions of  Senegal claimed an impressive 4-0 win against South Sudan in their first step towards qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Sadio Mane scored two goals, along with Pape Sarr and Lamine Camara who also found the back of the net to write off a good start in their qualification campaign.

The Teranga Lions started strong, scoring the opening goal in just 60 seconds through Sarr’s composed finish before Mane followed up six minutes later with a powerful shot after Diallo’s brilliant assist.

South Sudan’s goalkeeper Mawith was lucky to only receive a yellow card in the 29th minute after fouling Senegal’s Sadio Mane Just before halftime as Camara extended the lead to three after a great pass from Idrissa Gueye.

Mane then scored a penalty in the 57th minute to seal the victory for the African champions who would have scored more goals after dominating their opponents and dishing away Golden opportunities.

Senegal will play their next game against Togo, while South Sudan will host Mauritania in a neutral location.
