Fecafoot to seize FIFA ethics committee over Algerian threats

FECAFOOT President, Samuel Eto’o Fils has said the Cameroon football federation may petition FIFA’s ethics committee following persistent threats, insults, and accusations from Algerian football fans and officials.

This is FECAFOOT’s first official statement since Cameroon defeated Algeria in the world cup qualification playoff. Since their elimination, the Algerians have said 2 or more Cameroon football authorities were involved in bribery.

The statement also comes in the wake of an interview of Algerian head coach, Djamel Belmadi, granted to the Algerian Football Television channel, where he reiterated that Cameroon bribed referee Gassama.FIFA is yet to respond to a petition filed by Algeria to replay the match.
