Improvised explosive devices seized by customs in Adamawa region

Customs officials in Banyo, Mayo-Banyo division in the Adamawa region of Cameroon say they discovered a large quantity of improvised explosive devices while on duty on Wednesday June 1st. The suspected smugglers, they say, were transporting their merchandise in a vehicle from neighboring Nigeria.

It was intercepted at the entrance into a locality called Boudjoumkoura. Officers who were on duty say the explosive devices were hidden among other properties.  The suspects were arrested onboard the vehicle and handed over to security forces for further interrogation before transfer to the competent courts. Security sources revealed these explosives were meant to terrorize the population of Ngaoundere and thus increase the rate of insecurity.
