Fecafoot reinstates Panthere in Elite 2
Panthère Sportive of Nde has been reinstated in the Elite 2 championship, the Cameroon Football Federation, Fecafoot, announced on Wednesday.
The decision to reinstate Nzuimanto is contained in an October 18, release from the Football powerhouse which stated that,
” In application of a final verdict, rendered on January 10, 2022, by the West Administrative Court of Bafoussam, the Emergency Committee of FeCaFoot in its session held on October 9, 2023, noticed that the above-mentioned team was not part of the MTN Elite 2 in 2018 even though it was registered and possessed players’ licenses.”
With this reinstatement, the Elite 2 championship will be played by 16 teams this year. This is the main reason why FeCaFoot in another release the same day, scheduled another draw for Friday, October 20, 2023, thus canceling the draw that was done on October 6, 2023.
It should be noted that Panthère of Nde was relegated to inferior leagues after the team was found guilty of match-fixing in 2022. The decision by FECAFOOT was highly contested and led to a judicial battle between the club and FeCaFooot.
